Bright, pale gold hue, very fine bubbles. Chalky top note that come from Chardonnay’s dominant role in this classic 65% blend with Pinot Noir. Has a citrus freshness, purity, which also manifests on the palate. Lees contact, and the red fruit give palate weight, a satisfying fullness, mouth-filling flavour. Not an aperitif style, it’s richer, fuller than that, with a very long finish.
